Moscow film festival to present Iranian drama

kinoIranian cinematic production Unripe Pomegranate has been selected to compete at the 2014 edition of Moscow International Film festival in Russia.

Directed by Majid Reza Mostafavi, the film is slated to contend for awards along with 15 other productions participated from different countries at the Competition section of the festival.

Brothers by Victoria Trofimenko from Ukraine, The Sentimentalists by Nicholas Triandafyllidis from Greece andReporter by Thijs Gloger from the Netherlands and White Yagel by Vladimir Tumayev from Russia are among the Competition section’s film lineup.

Mostafavi’s debut film chronicles a couple living at the suburb of the Iranian capital of Tehran and their challenges involved in fighting several problems occurred in their life.

The film was screened at the 2014 Iran’s Fajr International Festival and was also presented at the Cannes Film Market.

The 36th Moscow International Film festival is scheduled to take place from June 19 to 28.
